Coaching with a qualified ADHD coach is emerging as an impactful option in the treatment of ADHD, and is often the preferred non- pharmaceutical treatment of choice, or is recommended for inclusion in an ADHD treatment plan, alongside medication, for those who are looking to make positive changes and to achieve their goals. Using a strength-based approach, ADHD coaching will help clients not only understand the neuroscience behind their unique brain wiring, but will help them develop the skills to accept and manage their challenges to lead a more productive, successful and less chaotic life.

Frequently Asked Questions

ADHD coaching is a personalised way to get support with the everyday challenges of ADHD. As a coach, I work with you (or your child) to help tackle things like organisation, time management, focus, and handling emotions. Together, we set goals that matter to you—whether for school, work, personal or family life—and come up with strategies that fit your unique strengths and needs. Through one-on-one sessions, we work on building practical skills, boosting confidence, and making life a little easier, one step at a time.

Each of these approaches has its own unique focus:
ADHD Coaching is all about working together to build practical skills and strategies for managing the daily challenges of ADHD. As a coach, I’ll partner with you (or your child) to set meaningful goals, make a clear plan, and stay on track with things like time management, focus, and motivation. Coaching is hands-on and encourages building helpful habits that stick.

Mentoring is often about sharing personal experience and guidance in a specific area, like a career or skill. Mentors offer advice and encouragement, but they may not focus on developing specific ADHD strategies.

Counselling/Therapy is provided by licensed professionals who help with emotional and psychological concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma or self-esteem issues. Therapists help clients explore underlying feelings, process past experiences, and may offer clinical diagnoses and treatment plans. While therapists may work with people with ADHD, their approach often involves support for deeper mental health challenges, rather than practical strategies for daily challenges.

Not at all! You don’t need any prior knowledge about ADHD to benefit from coaching. We’ll start from wherever you’re at, and I’ll help you learn more about how ADHD affects you (or your child) specifically. Together, we’ll explore practical ways to work with ADHD and build on your understanding as we go.33

To make the most of coaching, it’s helpful to take a little time before each session to think back on what we worked on last time and consider any topics or goals you’d like to focus on next. This reflection keeps our sessions focused and helps us build on each step together.

This is totally ok… Not everyone is in the right mindset or stage of life to find coaching impactful. I will work with you to assess your readiness for coaching and will suggest alternative options if you’re not yet ready. Sometimes, it could be a matter of a coach/client mismatch, in which case I will do my best to refer you another coach to find a more suitable match.
